Young Shipwrights, Children's Model Boat Race and IMECHE Members Cardboard Boat Race

Th Institute of Mechanical Engineers work with MFMC to stage an annual cardboard boat race.

IMECH are one of many sponsors of the Young Shipwrights Workshops

The Cardboard Boat Race is open to non members with all the entry money used to fund schools workshops

Schools workshops are supported by volunteers from a wide range of businesses

Children explore maritime history and the wonders of Bristol's Tides

Many workshops are held at Engine Shed a business hub on the river. Children encounter people places and exhibitions.

"What! You can study making buildings like this? And that is what you do, just one thing as good as that all day everyday!"
